The 2024 Waste Schedule is now in effect.
NEW 2024 Waste Schedule and Sorting Guide : Sorting Changes
Due to pending Provincial EPR legislation; effective January 1, 2024, Queens County residents will be required to separate recyclable paper materials from recyclable containers. Paper materials such as paper, boxboard and cardboard all go into the same blue or clear bag. Cardboard can also be tied into bundles no larger than 2ft x 3ft. Plastic, tin, aluminum, glass and all other containers go into a separate blue or clear bag. More information is included in the 2024 Waste Schedule and Sorting Guide or call 902-354-7170 for any assistance, or try the Waste Collection App below.
In the Region of Queens, waste collection is every second week as indicated on your waste collection schedule. Blue bags, green carts, and garbage bags are picked up on the same day. Place materials at the curb by 8:00am on collection day. Collection occurs on all holidays except Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Collections that would normally fall on those days would then occur on the next collection day. Click the image on the left for the 2024 Waste Collection Schedule .
Spring and Fall Clean-Up, Leaf and Yard Waste Clean-Up and Christmas Tree Pick-Up occur on the same day as your regular collection.
If your garbage has been missed or you are experiencing collection problems, the Region's collector, GE's All Trucking, can be contacted toll free at 1-866-303-1103.
