The Region of Queens issues approximate 15,000 tax invoices to all property owners once a year. Unlike many municipalities in Nova Scotia, our rates are inclusive of services such as fire hydrants, street lighting, garbage collection and paving.

Tax Exemptions
Applicants are required to provide a copy of their 2023 Notice of Assessment from the Canada Revenue Agency. The application form is below. Forms must be forwarded with the appropriate documentation to Region of Queens Municipality 249 White Point Road PO Box 1264 Liverpool NS B0T 1K0. Tax Rates
Property taxes in the Region of Queens are calculated by applying the applicable tax rate to every $100 in assessed property value. The assessed value is determined by an independent organization, the Property Valuation Services Corporation, a company that performs the valuation services for all properties in Nova Scotia. HST is not applicable on property taxes.
