The Region of Queens Waste Management Facility (landfill) is located at 3750 Highway 8, approximately 15 minutes north of Liverpool.
Hours of operation are 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. It is open from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
The landfill is closed on the following holidays:
- New Year’s Day
- Heritage Day
- Good Friday
- Easter Monday
- Victoria Day
- Canada Day
- Labour Day
- National Day For Truth & Reconciliation
- Thanksgiving Day
- Remembrance Day
- Christmas Day
The Landfill will not be closed for two consecutive weekdays (Monday-Friday), including Christmas and Boxing Day. If these days fall within the same work week, the site will be closed for Christmas and open Boxing Day. However, if they are split between a weekday and weekend, the holiday observed will be that which falls on the weekday only. If they both occur on the weekend, the holiday will be observed on Monday only.
