In the spring of 2001, Council approved the formation of a Planning Advisory Committee whose purpose would be to to advise Council on issues relating to the preparation of, and amendments to, planning documents, and on land use planning matters in general. Three (3) members of Council and one representative from each of the seven (7)* electoral districts currently sit on the Committee.

Meetings are held in the Council Chambers of the Regional Administration Building, located at 249 White Point Road in Liverpool, on the first (1st) Monday of each month at 6:00 pm unless otherwise determined by the committee.

REGION OF QUEENS MUNICIPALITY

PLANNING ADVISORY COMMITTEE

 The Region of Queens Municipality is seeking expressions of interest from members of the public who are interested in serving on the Planning Advisory Committee.  There is currently a vacancy for a representative Electoral District 7:

ALL that district comprising Whiteburne Mines, Westfield, South Brookfield, Pleasant River, Northfield, West Caledonia, Tobeatic Wilderness Area, North Brookfield, New Grafton, Lake Rossignol, Kempt, Kejimkujik National Park of Canada, Hibernia, Harmony Mills, Caledonia, and Albany New.

The purpose of the Planning Advisory Committee is to act in an advisory capacity to Council on such matters as:

  • Review and make recommendations on any proposed amendment to the Region’s Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use Bylaw;
  • Review and make recommendations on all applications for development agreements; and
  • Review and make recommendations on land use planning matters in general.
