Focused on expanding the ways in which the Region of Queens can support and nurture local businesses, here are some avenues available to help Queens County entrepreneurs on their growth path.
1) Business Façade Program: Region of Queens has funds available to assist with exterior updates or repairs for Queens County business properties. Receive up to 50% of approved eligible costs, to a max of $5K per project. To learn more about eligibility or to apply, click HERE.

2) Event Support: Share details about your upcoming event, so we can help drive awareness and attendance. To include your event on the Region of Queens Events Calendar, please complete the form HERE.
3) Business Directory Listing: Get featured in the Region of Queens Business Directory so more people can find you. Create your free business listing HERE.
4) Annual Holiday Wishbook: Businesses receive free holiday ad inclusion in the Wishbook, an annual gift-giving guide featuring all things local for festive shopping. If you have a holiday promo for your business that you wish to share with potential shoppers in the 2024 edition of the Wishbook, get on the list by emailing us HERE. BUSINESS ASSOCIATIONS & ENTREPRENEURSHIP RESOURCES
Queens Coast is home to a variety of external organizations that move the Region forward as the place to do business. Here are some additional local resources to assist entrepreneurs and small businesses operating in Queens County.
SOUTH QUEENS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE (SQCC): Over 100 years strong, SQCC is a membership-based organization that exists to foster a sense of community and collaboration amongst businesses located in South Queens. From networking opportunities, facilitating professional development workshops, to hosting signature events for the business community and residents of Queens, SQCC is a valued partner of the Region of Queens. With a vibrant Board of Directors and growing membership, and as members of the Nova Scotia Chambers of Commerce, they have become leaders in advocacy for local business. NORTH QUEENS BOARD OF TRADE: Established in 1906, the North Queens Board of Trade operates in the Caledonia area, and much like the South Queens Chamber of Commerce, acts as an advocate for local businesses. CBDC SOUTH SHORE OPPORTUNITIES INC: South Shore Opportunities CBDC is part of a network of independent non-profit CBDC’s run by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of business minded people from the local community. South Shore Opportunities covers the geographic area of Queens County and Lunenburg County and offers a wealth of services such as business counselling and training, advisory services, and financial and funding assistance. They welcome discussions with aspiring entrepreneurs about the creation of small businesses and startups, and existing business owners looking to expand or advance technology.
