YOU SPOKE AND WE LISTENED. THE COMMUNITY INVESTMENT FUND POLICY HAS SOME IMPORTANT IMPROVEMENTS.
Region of Queens Municipality takes great pride in the ability to make investments in the community served. The Community Investment Fund (CIF) was created to help registered non-profit organizations or societies further their mission by supporting endeavors which include infrastructure, programs, and, most importantly, people.
The CIF has $175,000 available annually to support projects of impact within Queens County. At the January 27 Council Meeting, Council approved a series of proposed amendments to the Community Investment Fund Policy to enhance its responsiveness and usability, while continuing to support accessibility, community impact, and alignment with the evolving needs of local community organizations. These changes are intended to strengthen the Municipality’s ability to deliver meaningful, measurable community benefit through its investments.

PLEASE NOTE: THE COMMUNITY INVESTMENT FUND IS CURRENTLY CLOSED. UPON COUNCIL APPROVAL OF THE 2026-27 FISCAL BUDGET, THE FUND WILL OPEN TO ACCEPT REQUESTS FOR EVENTS, TRAVEL, TRAINING, TOURNAMENTS, AND CAPITAL PROJECTS.
Operating Fund applications are reviewed prior to Capital Fund applications and other requests. All are dependent on budget approval for the program in any given fiscal year. The fiscal calendar begins April 1. The Final Reports for Operating Fund investments are due February 28, annually.
All applicants under all other Fund categories (Capital, Events, Tournaments, Training, and Travel Assistance – over $500), all required Final Reporting requirements must be submitted as outlined in the original signed agreement, no later than March 31 annually in order to receive final reimbursement. This includes a report outlining the project/activity impact and the submission of all expense receipts from the proposed, approved eligible expenses outlined in your Letter of Approval (exclusive of HST).
