The Region of Queens Municipality is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated professional to join our team as a Protective Services Coordinator.
As a Protective Services Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding staff and the general public as it relates to municipal operations and enhances the effectiveness of emergency services that operate in Region of Queens Municipality’s communities. By overseeing internal safety systems, this role ensures that all municipal operations comply with the highest safety standards, reducing risks and fostering a culture of safety across all departments.
Additionally, the position leads Region of Queens Municipality’s emergency management systems and is responsible for strengthening collaboration and coordination with external emergency service providers including fire departments, hospitals and other critical agencies. This ensures that Region of Queens Municipality is well-prepared to respond to emergencies with clear, effective plans and strong inter-agency partnerships.
About You
- You have a strong understanding of emergency management principles, including incident command systems, disaster response and recovery operations
- You have strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to emergencies effectively
- You have the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with various supporters, including emergency services, government agencies and the public
Qualifications
- A diploma or degree in a related field (e.g. Occupational Health, Environmental Science, Emergency Management, Business Administration, etc.)
- Emergency Operations Management Certification is considered an asset
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in public safety, health and safety, emergency management, or a related field
- Experience in coordinating emergency response plans and working with emergency services

Compensation:
The salary for this position ranges from $85,565 – $113,160 annually, commensurate with experience.
