The Region of Queens Municipality is seeking a motivated, dynamic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Recreation and Aquatics Programmer.

The Recreation and Aquatics Programmer is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating a wide range of recreation, aquatic, fitness and community programs. The Programmer also supports facility scheduling, staff training, budget management and coordination of events.

This role involves close collaboration with the Physical Activity Coordinator, other municipal staff and community organizations to ensure that programs meet the diverse, evolving needs of community members and promote health and wellness, while the incumbent upholds high standards of safety and customer service. In this multifaceted and fast-paced environment, the Programmer will demonstrate strong leadership, collaboration and decision-making skills, sound judgment and a willingness to learn and adapt to the evolving needs of the position and the communities it serves.

About You:

· You are a highly motivated individual with the ability to foster strong relationships with internal and external contributors and adheres to high standards of confidentiality

· You have excellent communication and leadership skills with an in-depth understanding of recreation and aquatics programming principles and best practices

· You have the ability to make administrative and procedural decision and prepare reports

Qualifications:

· Degree, Diploma or Certification in Recreation Management, Kinesiology, Leisure Studies, Sport Management or a related field

· Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in recreation or aquatics programming

· Working knowledge of the principal objectives of community recreation, understanding of physical activity and recreation delivery systems and barriers to physical activity

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is between $46,347 and $61,295 annually. Relocation support may be available for this position. A comprehensive job description is available here.
