Region of Queens Municipality’s Department of Infrastructure, Public Works Division is currently seeking applications from a highly-organized, detail-oriented and dynamic individual interested in joining our team in the position of Heavy Equipment Operator III.
The position of Heavy Equipment Operator III is a hands-on position involving the Municipality’s equipment fleet.
The Ideal Candidate will posses the following level of certification:
- Nova Scotia Class 1 Drivers’ License
Key Responsibilities:
- Controlling and maneuvering heavy equipment using hand and foot pedals or levers individually and simultaneously
- Maintaining equipment by providing routine maintenance and checks pre and post-trip
- Recognizing and demonstrating multiple modes of communication to work safely and effectively with team members
- Operating tampers, saws or other hydro-carbon or electric-powered tools and equipment
- Utilizing shovels, rakes, picks, bars or other hand-held implements
- Working from a ladder and complex spaces
Qualifications:
- Nova Scotia Class 1 Drivers’ License
- High-school diploma or equivalent
