Region of Queens Municipality is seeking a motivated, dependable and community-minded person to join our team as a Groundskeeper.
The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining high-quality standards and presentation of all municipally owned and public-facing grounds. This includes lawns, planters, parks, playgrounds, trails, and other outdoor recreation and community spaces. The role involves the operation of light vehicles and specialized tools to ensure these areas are safe, well-maintained, and visually appealing. By preserving the condition and appearance of public spaces, the Groundskeeper plays a vital role in enhancing community well-being and supporting recreational activities.
About You:
- You are a highly motivated individual who takes pride in contributing to your community
- You are able to spend extended periods of time walking, standing or crouching while carrying, lifting or applying other motor skills
- You are able to complete tasks in a noisy environment while applying established protocols on time
- You have the ability to function effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment with challenging and competing priorities and deadlines
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Three (3) years experience in practical landscaping or related field
- Relevant certifications or training in groundskeeping, horticulture, or landscape maintenance
- Experience operating light vehicles and specialized grounds maintenance equipment
- Class 5 NS Driver’s License (Condition 15 endorsement)

Compensation:
This is an IBEW Union position at an hourly wage of $27.23 per hour.
