Key Responsibilities:
- Lead meaningful and lasting changes in physical activity levels of the community
- Facilitate the development and support of community-based physical activity initiatives, focusing on integrating unstructured physical activity into daily life
- Collaborate with local organizations, schools and collaborators to promote inclusive physical activity opportunities, especially for low-active and equity-deserving populations
- Provide guidance and resources to community groups for developing sustainable programs that encourage an active lifestyle and reduce sedentary behavior
- Monitor the effectiveness of community programs and assist in identifying strategic areas for improvement and innovation
- Work interdepartmentally within the municipality to advance capital projects and programs that support unstructured physical activity
Qualifications:
- A degree in Kinesiology, Recreation Management or a related field
- Strong leadership, organizational and communication skills
- Previous experience in developing and managing strategic partnerships and initiatives that support positive change in communities
- A passion for wellbeing, healthy populations and community engagement
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
