Queens District RCMP is investigating mischief to the Tourist Bureau in Liverpool. On January 9, 2023, Queens District RCMP responded to a report of vandalism to the Tourist Bureau in Liverpool. RCMP officers learned that someone had vandalized the Tourist Bureau with various forms of graffiti between the evening of January 8 and early morning hours of January 9. RCMP officers have obtained a photo of a person believed to be involved in in the incident and are releasing the photo to the public in the hopes of identifying them. A short time ago, I was notified of vandalism at the Visitor Information Centre in Liverpool. Vandalism, including damaged windows and spray painted hateful words targeting 2SLGBTQ+ communities, was very upsetting to say the least. This was an act of hatred. Sadly, these actions cause hurt to our communities and 2SLGBTQ+ people as a whole far beyond the cost of paint and glass. Utility customers may continue to experience discoloured water for a period of time- running your cold water tap for a few minutes typically resolves this.
