2022-11-28 – Special Council Meeting
There will be a Special Council meeting of Region of Queens Council held on Monday, November 28, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. in the Region’s Council Chambers, 249 White Point Road, Liverpool. The purpose of this meeting is to deal with an In-Camera Item – Sale of Municpal Property. An agenda will be posted on this website.
Public notice: Temporary Partial Street Closures: Liverpool re: Parade on Nov. 27, 2022
November 24, 2022: On Sunday, November 27, 2022 from 6 pm until approximately 7:30 pm there will be street closures in effect for the Liverpool Firefighters Annual Christmas Parade. The parade route begins on Queens Place Drive, progressing along Bristol Avenue to Henry Hensey Dr., and will conclude at Liverpool Fire Hall at the corner of Main St. and Henry Hensey Dr. The streets will reopen at the conclusion of the parade. Motorists traveling in the area are advised to expect delays and plan their route accordingly.

November 21, 2022, 11:10 a.m.: Public Works staff are responding to a water leak on Zwicker Ave., Liverpool. As a result, Zwicker Ave. will be closed to through traffic. Zwicker Ave. and surrounding areas may experience loss of water at times until the repair has been completed.

Flags at Half Mast: National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women
On December 6, 2022, flags at Queens Place Emera Centre and Region of Queens Municipality’s Administration building will be flown at half mast in observance of National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. It’s been 33 years since the mass shooting in which 14 young women were killed and 13 other people were injured at École Polytechnique in Montreal. An armed man separated the women from the men in a classroom and murdered them because they were women. Special Purpose Flag Pole: Transgender Awareness Week, Nov. 13 – 19, 2022
November 14, 2022: From November 14 to November 20, 2022, Region of Queens Municipality flies the Transgender Flag on the Special Purpose flag pole at Town Hall Arts & Cultural Centre, 219 Main St. Liverpool, NS to mark Transgender Awareness Week. Transgender Awareness Week is to raise awareness about transgender and gender non-conforming people through education and advocacy activities. The week ends with Transgender Day of Remembrance to memorialize victims of transphobic violence.
Temporary Partial Street Closure: Liverpool
November 10, 2022: On November 11, 2022 from 10:30 a.m. until 12 noon, a portion of Main Street, Liverpool will be closed for the Remembrance Day Parade. The section of Main Street from Market Street to the area in front of Dixie Lee Restaurant and Reynolds Pharmasave, as well as Jubilee Street, from Main Street to the parking lot at the rear of the Royal Bank and Town Hall Arts and Cultural Centre. Residents along the closed streets will be able to access their properties as required.
