Public Hearing Notice: Sale of Municipal Land

Public Hearing Notice:

TAKE NOTICE THAT Council of Region of Queens Municipality, on Tuesday November 22, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers of the Municipal Administration Building, 249 White Point Road, Liverpool, Nova Scotia, will hold a Public Hearing respecting Council’s intention to sell municipal property to a nonprofit organization for less than market value.  (S. 51 (3) of Municipal Government Act).

The properties are identified as PID#’s 70027982, 70040423, 70017983 and 70028477 and are located off Lawrence Street and Amherst Street in Liverpool.  The purpose of this sale is to accommodate a proposal to develop 12 – 20 affordable housing units.  An estimated fair market value if the parcels is $15,000.

Any interested persons who wish to speak on this matter are invited to attend and make their opinions known to Council.  Written submissions will be presented at the Hearing, and must be delivered to the Municipal Office at least two (2) days prior to the time of the Hearing.
