From June 9 through June 23, 2021, the flag pole on the waterfront in Liverpool, NS will fly the Sante Mawiomi flag, also known as Mi’kmaq Grand Council flag, in honour of National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21, and to recognize that June is National Indigenous History Month. This year is the 25th anniversary of National Indigenous Peoples Day. National Indigenous History Month is dedicated to the missing children, the families left behind and the survivors of residential schools. Flags at Half Mast Honouring 215 Lives Lost

May 31, 2021: Beginning the morning of May 31, 2021, flags at Region of Queens Municipality’s Administration Building and Queens Place Emera Centre will fly at half mast for 215 hours to remember and honour the 215 children whose remains were discovered on the grounds of Kamloops Indian Residential School in British Columbia. We join with people across Canada in mourning and honouring the memory of these lost Indigenous children.

COVID-19 Exposure

May 5, 2021: Please be advised that the Municipality was contacted by Public Health today and informed that there has been a COVID-19 exposure at Queens Place Emera Centre on Sunday, April 25, 2021.  The exposure was in the fitness centre. Public Health has advised that anyone who was in the fitness centre from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 25, 2021,should immediately self-isolate and call 811 to book a COVID-19 test  or go online https://covid-self-assessment.novascotia.ca/en . Public Health requires that even those whose tests come back negative must continue to self-isolate until May 9, 2021 at 11:59 p.m.  Queens Place Emera Centre is…
