June is National Indigenous History Month, and June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day

From June 9 through June 23, 2021, the flag pole on the waterfront in Liverpool, NS will fly the Sante Mawiomi flag, also known as Mi’kmaq Grand Council flag, in honour of National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21, and to recognize that June is National Indigenous History Month. This year is the 25th anniversary of National Indigenous Peoples Day. National Indigenous History Month is dedicated to the missing children, the families left behind and the survivors of residential schools.
