Holiday Closures: Good Friday and Easter Monday

Please note the following holiday closures.   Region of Queens Municipality’s Administration Offices & Municipal Solid Waste Facility:  CLOSED on March 29 & April 1 for the Good Friday and Easter Monday holidays. The Municipal Solid Waste Facility will be open regular hours on Saturday, March 30, 8 am – 2 p.m. Waste collection will take place as scheduled on both holidays. Queens Place Emera Centre: CLOSED on March 29 for the Good Friday holiday. Queens Place Emera Centre will be open regular hours over the weekend, March 30 – April 1.

EMO Update: Winter Storm Warning Issued by Environmet Canada Now Ended

Feb. 14, 2024; 10:50 a.m.: The Winter Storm Warning has ended.  Please use care while post storm clean-up is underway.  February 13, 2024; 5:15 pm:  Environment Canada has issued a Winter Storm Warning for most of southern and eastern Nova Scotia, including Queens County. Total snowfall is expected in the range of 15 to 25 cm with the highest amounts closest to the Atlantic coast. Northeasterly wind gusts are expected this evening of 60 to 80 km/hr, becoming northwesterly overnight. Strong winds and fresh snow will likely give whiteout conditions to some areas. In observance of African Heritage month, Region of Queens Municipality is flying the Pan African Flag on the Special Purpose Flagpole at Town Hall Arts & Cultural Centre, 219 Main St., Liverpool, beginning February 1 and continuing until February 15.
