EMO Update: Winter Storm Warning Issued by Environmet Canada Now Ended

Feb. 14, 2024; 10:50 a.m.: The Winter Storm Warning has ended.  Please use care while post storm clean-up is underway.

February 13, 2024; 5:15 pm:  Environment Canada has issued a Winter Storm Warning for most of southern and eastern Nova Scotia, including Queens County.

Total snowfall is expected in the range of 15 to 25 cm with the highest amounts closest to the Atlantic coast. Northeasterly wind gusts are expected this evening of 60 to 80 km/hr, becoming northwesterly overnight.

Strong winds and fresh snow will likely give whiteout conditions to some areas. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.

Winter storm warnings are issued when multiple types of severe winter weather are expected to occur together.
