STATEMENT BY REGION OF QUEENS MUNICIPALITY REGARDING HGS CANADA January 15, 2020 Recently HGS Canada informed the Municipality that they will not be renewing their lease option for the building in Liverpool Industrial Park. HGS Canada has decided that after 13 years operating at this location that they no longer wish to continue with the current lease arrangement with Region of Queens Municipality. Strong Southerly winds gusting to 90 km/hour are expected to persist through the afternoon. Winds of this strength may result in damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows. Leaf and Yard Waste Pick-up
This year’s LEAF AND YARD WASTE roadside pick-up will be held during the weeks of November 4 to November 8, 2019 and November 11 to November 15, 2019 on your regular collection day. The materials acceptable for pick-up shall include leaves, grass trimmings, and yard waste placed in clear or orange plastic bags. (No plastics, cigarette packages, cups, etc.) Branches and limbs will be accepted if individual branches do not exceed 7 cm. (2.5 inches) in diameter. RQM Wins Award at AMANS Conference
October 21, 2019; Liverpool, NS: During the Fall AMANS Conference in Digby last week, Region of Queens Municipality was presented the ‘Workplace for Wellness Silver Award’. This award was presented for the Municipality’s commitment to improving the health of its employees and elected officials. Thank you to Norm Amirault, Wendy Connors and Mallory Plummer for organizing ‘Workplace Wellness Week’ activities over the past two years. A big thank you as well to KayLee Oickle for all she does year round to promote health and wellness amongst staff and Council; she inspires and motivates all, and her dedication is appreciated.
