Public Notice: Water Disruption & Possible Discolouration

Update, 4:15 p.m., June 29, 2021:  Water is being turned on now in the affected area of Waterloo and Ellenwood Street, Liverpool.  Residents may continue to experience discoloured water. July 29, 2021:  As the result of work being done on Union Street water & sewer lines, water will be shut off to properties located on Ellenwood St., Liverpool , beginning immediately.  Properties affected are being notified by Municipal Public Works staff. Water is expected to be restored to Ellenwood St. by the end of the day.  There is a potential that other areas may experience lower pressure and water discolouration.

From June 9 through June 23, 2021, the flag pole on the waterfront in Liverpool, NS will fly the Sante Mawiomi flag, also known as Mi’kmaq Grand Council flag, in honour of National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21, and to recognize that June is National Indigenous History Month. This year is the 25th anniversary of National Indigenous Peoples Day. National Indigenous History Month is dedicated to the missing children, the families left behind and the survivors of residential schools. Flags at Half Mast Honouring 215 Lives Lost

May 31, 2021: Beginning the morning of May 31, 2021, flags at Region of Queens Municipality’s Administration Building and Queens Place Emera Centre will fly at half mast for 215 hours to remember and honour the 215 children whose remains were discovered on the grounds of Kamloops Indian Residential School in British Columbia. We join with people across Canada in mourning and honouring the memory of these lost Indigenous children.
