Flags at Half Mast: National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women

December 6 is National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. Flags at the Region of Queens Municipality’s Administration Building and Queens Place Emera Centre are being flown at half mast today in observance of this day which is observed on the anniversary of the 1989 École Polytechnique massacre, in which an armed male student murdered fourteen women and injured fourteen others because they were women. The purpose of the day is to increase awareness and invite change against the violence that occurs to women.

Next Steps for New Library in Queens

Liverpool, [November 16, 2023] â€“ The Council of the Region of Queens Municipality is committed to developing a new library, which would replace the existing location at the Rossignol Cultural Centre in Liverpool. The current library’s lease expires at the end of 2024 and Municipal staff have identified the Liverpool Business Development Center as a potential and promising new home for the library. October 12, 2023: We have been fortunate to be able to enjoy the spray pad at the Etli Milita’mk Universally Designed Playpark for much longer than anticipated this Fall. With cooler weather starting to creep in, it is now time to winterize the spray pad to protect it from frost.
