Upcoming construction: Weir lane Rehabilitation Project To Begin May 13, 2024
May 10, 2024; Liverpool, NS: Since amalgamation in 1996, the Region of Queens Municipality has invested over $100 million in capital upgrades to infrastructure throughout Queens County. These upgrades have improved environmental conditions, provided safe streets, sidewalks, and drinking water, as well as quality recreational facilities. This work will continue in 2024, starting with infrastructure upgrades on Weir Lane.
The Weir Lane Rehabilitation Project will begin on Monday, May 13, 2024. This project continues work started in 2022 on Main Street and will replace deteriorated sewer and water mains, as well as install new storm drainage, and asphalt street surface. Many of the water and sewer mains in Liverpool date back more than 100 years. Upgrades to the water and sewer systems ensure that the Municipality’s infrastructure will remain functional for years to come.
As a result of the construction, Weir Lane will be closed to public traffic, with work areas open to local and emergency traffic only. Residents with questions regarding the project should contact the Region of Queens Municipality’s Department of Engineering and Public Works at publicworks@regionofqueens.com or 902-354-7170.
