This year’s theme is “Compassion Where it Counts”, gives us all a chance to recognize VON’s passionate staff and volunteers, and their longstanding willingness to help those who need, especially during the pandemic. May 14, 2021:  Since becoming an amalgamated Municipality in 1996, Region of Queens Municipality has been able to invest approximately $73 million in capital upgrades to our infrastructure throughout Queens County that has helped our environment, provide safe streets, sidewalks, and drinking water, as well as quality recreational facilities.  We are proud of the work that has been completed over the past 25 years and that work will continue in 2021 -2022. COVID-19 Exposure

May 5, 2021: Please be advised that the Municipality was contacted by Public Health today and informed that there has been a COVID-19 exposure at Queens Place Emera Centre on Sunday, April 25, 2021.  The exposure was in the fitness centre. Public Health has advised that anyone who was in the fitness centre from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 25, 2021,should immediately self-isolate and call 811 to book a COVID-19 test  or go online https://covid-self-assessment.novascotia.ca/en . Public Health requires that even those whose tests come back negative must continue to self-isolate until May 9, 2021 at 11:59 p.m.  Queens Place Emera Centre is…

Council of Region of Queens Municipality Approves 2021-2022 Budget

April 28, 2021; Liverpool, NS:  Following several months of budget planning and deliberations, the annual Operating, Water Utility, and Capital Budgets for Region of Queens Municipality were unanimously approved at the April 27, 2021 Regular Council meeting.  This is the first budget of the newly elected Council. Operating Budget total is $21,968,378, including Hillsview Acres. This year’s LEAF AND YARD WASTE roadside pick-up will be held during the weeks of May 3 to May 7, 2021 and May 10 to May 14, 2021 on your regular collection day. The materials acceptable for pick-up shall include leaves, grass trimmings, and yard waste placed in clear or orange plastic bags. (No plastics, cigarette packages, cups, etc.)   Branches and limbs will be accepted if individual branches do not exceed 7 cm.
