2023/2024 Budget Deliberation: Upcoming meeting dates and videos of budget meetings posted online
A series of budget meetings were held over the past several weeks to discuss the 2023/2024 fiscal budget for Region of Queens Municipality. The budget will be brought forward for approval at the Regular Council Meeting on Tuesday, April 25 at 6 p.m. at West Queens Community centre, Riverhead Road, Port Mouton. All are welcome to attend. Delayed Opening, March 3, 2023 – Region of Queens Municipality’s Administration Building
March 2, 2023, 4:04 p.m: In anticipation of the snowfall that is expected overnight and the resulting road conditions in the early morning hours, the administration building of Region of Queens Municipality, 249 White Point Road, Liverpool, will have a delayed opening on Friday, March 3, 2023. The offices will open at 10 a.m.
Winter Parking Restrictions in Effect
Winter Parking Restrictions in Liverpool Motorists are reminded that Winter Parking restrictions are now in place. Section 139 of the Motor Vehicle Act states that vehicles may not park or interfere in any way with snow removal or sanding/salting, and that those who do, may be towed at the owners expense. Please be advised that vehicles parked on the roads, at parking meters or public parking lots in Liverpool will be towed if they impede winter maintenance. UPDATE: Public notice; Water Leak repair and Water Service Restored – Millard Ave., Liverpool
2:53 p.m., Feb 6, 2023: The repair has been completed to the leak in the water line on Millard Ave., Liverpool and the water has been turned back on. ********************February 6, 2023: Municipal Staff are currently working to repair a water leak on Millard Ave., Liverpool. This has resulted in a loss of water for properties on that street, and may result in cause loss of water pressure and discoloured water in the surrounding area. We apologize for any inconvenience caused while this necessary work takes place.
Weather Warning: Extreme Cold, February 3 – 4, 2023
February 3, 2023: Environment Canada has issued an Extreme Cold Warning, in effect from Friday evening, February 3, through to Saturday afternoon, February 4. Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and hypothermia. The warning states that: An arctic airmass will combine with strong and gusty northwest winds to give bitterly cold conditions by tonight. Windchill values of minus 35 to minus 43 are expected to develop late night and will persist into Saturday morning before beginning to moderate Saturday afternoon as temperatures warm up….

Public Notice: Please Dispose of Sharps Safely
January 27, 2023: During waste collection this week, a large number of sharps (used needles), were discovered in bags placed curbside for collection. Region of Queens Municipality has properly disposed of the sharps, and would like to remind residents that there are procedures to follow to safely dispose of sharps. Sharps are not permitted to be placed curbside for disposal. Placing them in regular household waste creates a hazard for other people, pets, and wildlife in terms of safety and as a biohazard.
