You will be asked to identify the make of car (under the yellow box) to claim them.
The Perkins House Museum is an important cultural and historic building, significant to many in Queens County. The recent decision by the province to close it is disappointing, and we have heard from many in the community who share this feeling.
Like many in the community, I await more information from the Province of Nova Scotia about what the future holds for the Perkins House Museum – at this time, no requests have been made of the Region of Queens relating to the museum. I encourage members of the community with a passion for our heritage to become involved as the transition of this property and a future model for operations is contemplated.
I want to express my sincere thanks to the staff and volunteers who put in the time, care, and effort to make visiting Perkins House a memorable experience for so many residents and visitors alike over the years. Caring for the history and heritage of a community is important work, and I want to share my heartfelt gratitude for your dedication to preserving our shared story.

Further to the sewer service disruption on Bootlegger Road & Lower Waterloo Street East, Liverpool; municipal crews have determined that the issue is isolated to properties below Enos Collins Lane (harbour side), on Waterloo Street and Bootlegger Road, Liverpool.

There is currently a temporary disruption affecting sewer utility services on Bootlegger Road and the lower portion of Waterloo Street East in Liverpool. This issue is the result of recent weather events that have impacted sewer infrastructure in the area.
Municipal crews are actively working to resolve the situation as quickly as possible and are making every effort to minimize disruption to residents.
Residents in the affected area who are experiencing service issues are asked to contact the Department of Infrastructure at 902-354-7170.

On behalf of the RQM I want to express how deeply disappointed we are in the decision of the Nova Scotia Aquaculture Review Board (NSARB) to approve Kelly Cove Salmon Ltd.’s application to expand the existing salmon farm by Coffin Island and Beach Meadows Beach from the current 14 pens to 20. The RQM stood by our community as an intervenor in opposition to this expansion. I want to express my gratitude for our residents who contributed their time, energy and voices by providing oral statements, submitting testimony and appearing as witnesses at this hearing.

The results of the Area Rate votes will now be presented to Council in a staff report at the Regular Council Meeting on March 24, 2026, which begins at 5:30 pm. The public is welcome to attend this meeting in the Chamber gallery at the Municipal Administration Building at 249 White Point, Liverpool. It will also be livestreamed on our Facebook Page and YouTube channel. Council will consider the results of these votes and determine whether to approve the requested Area Rates at that time.

Brooklyn Cemetery Committee
On February 13, 2026, eligible voters in Assessment Districts 5 and 6 were given an opportunity to vote on a request from Brooklyn Cemetery Committee to levy a 1.5 cent per $100 of assessment on all assessment accounts in Assessment Districts 5 and 6 for the 2026-2027 fiscal year. The vote is not binding.
The results of the vote are as follows:
YES – 72
NO – 14
Rejected and Spoiled Ballots – 0
Total Voters Casting a Ballot – 86

TAKE NOTICE THAT Council of Region of Queens Municipality will consider second reading of Bylaw No. 11 – Public Sewer Systems, at the Regular Council Meeting on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. in Council Chamber, 249 White Point Road, Liverpool, NS.
OBJECT OF THE BYLAW: The object of this Bylaw is to regulate the use of the municipal sewerage system, including connections, permitted discharges, and user responsibilities, in order to protect municipal infrastructure, public health, and the environment, and to repeal and replace the existing Sewer Bylaw adopted in 2007.
A copy of the proposed bylaw may be inspected at the Municipal Administration Building, located at 249 White Point Road, Liverpool, NS, during the regular office hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and on the Municipal website at www.regionofqueens.com.

January 2, 2026: Following confirmation today from Nova Scotia Public Health/Department of Health, Hillsview Acres meets the criteria for a confirmed COVID outbreak.
The home will be closed to non-essential visitors and masking will be enforced. As always, good hand hygiene practices of washing hands with soap and water and frequent sanitizing are encouraged. Any changes to this status will be relayed on social media and families will be contacted.
