NOTICE OF INTENT TO CONSIDER SECOND READING

BYLAW NO. 29 – ACCOMMODATIONS LEVY

Council of Region of Queens Municipality will consider second reading of Bylaw No. 29 – Accommodations Levy, at the Regular Council Meeting on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. in Council Chamber, 249 White Point Road, Liverpool, NS.

OBJECT OF THE BYLAW: The object of Bylaw No. 29 is to impose an accommodation levy of three percent (3%) on the purchase price of accommodations, including hotels, motels, and registered short-term rentals, sold within Region of Queens Municipality. The bylaw establishes requirements for the collection, remittance, and administration of the levy by accommodation operators, with certain exemptions, pursuant to Section 75A of the Municipal Government Act.

A copy of the proposed bylaw may be inspected at the Municipal Administration Building, located at 249 White Point Road, Liverpool, NS, during the regular office hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and on the Municipal website at www.regionofqueens.com.
