Major Bantam Provincial Championships Coming to Queens Place Emera Centre

February 12, 2018; Liverpool, NS:  Queens County is set to welcome hockey fans from across the province March 22-25th at Queens Place Emera Centre.   The O’Regan’s  Subaru Western Hurricanes Hockey Club have been awarded the 2018 Nova Scotia Major Bantam Provincial Championships.  All games will be played on home ice at Queens Place Emera Centre in Liverpool, NS. Multiple Award Winning Canadian Country Band to Perform at Queens Place Emera Centre

Keep Emergency Preparedness in Mind All Year Round

January 23, 2018; Liverpool, NS:    Whether it’s snow or ice storms in the winter, flooding, hurricanes, forest fires, drought or other situations, it is wise to be prepared.  Region of Queens Emergency Management Office (EMO) Coordinator, Brian Hatt urges residents to have a plan and an emergency kit on hand. “An emergency kit is especially important to have in place as we enter the winter storm season, and there should be one in place year round.  EMO recommends that when residents learn of approaching storm systems, they prepare to shelter in their location for up to 72 hours.  This means…

January 23, 2018; Liverpool, NS: Nonprofit organizations in the Region of Queens Municipality have another means of communicating their organizations’ objectives and milestones with the public. The Region of Queens’ Council approved a motion at their January 23, 2018 Regular Council meeting to amend Policy 8 – Proclamations. The Policy states that “It shall be the policy of the Region of Queens Municipality not to endorse any proclamations.” The amendment will see proclamations submitted from local nonprofit community organizations or affiliations included in agenda packages for information purposes, allowing the public to make their own decision as to whether they…

2018 – 2019 Grants to Organizations

The Region of Queens Municipality is now accepting applications from Community Organizations for grants for the 2018/2019 fiscal year. To qualify, organizations must be Queens County based, must submit a financial statement for the previous year and a budget for the upcoming year. New organizations must submit a budget only.
