February 12, 2019; Liverpool, NS:  Evening Council meetings will now be part of the schedule in Region of Queens Municipality.  Following a one year trial period of quarterly evening Council meetings, a motion was approved at the February 12, 2019 regular Council meeting to change the scheduling of Region of Queens Council meetings to include one meeting each quarter to be held in the evening.  Council will meet the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m. in Council Chamber at the Municipal Building, 249 White Point Road, Liverpool, NS, and for the first meeting of each quarter…

Volunteers of the Year Chosen in Region of Queens Municipality

February 12, 2019; Liverpool, NS:  The effect that volunteers have in a community is far reaching, impacting many areas of community life, much like how ripples spread outward when a stone is thrown into a body of water. Telecommunications Tower Development Agreement Application Declined

February 12, 2019; Liverpool, NS: An application for a development agreement to erect a cellular telecommunications tower in Liverpool, NS has been declined by Region of Queens Municipality’s Council. The proposed location for the tower was on privately owned property located near the end of Meadow Pond Lane in Liverpool, which is zoned R6 -Mixed Use Coastal Residential. A telecommunications tower does not fall under the list of permitted uses in the R6 zone, however, Council has provisions in the Region’s Municipal Planning Strategy to consider approvals of such uses by way of a development agreement.
