Flags at the Region of Queens Municipality’s Administration Building and Queens Place Emera Centre have been lowered to half mast, in remembrance of and to honour the life of former Mayor John G. Leefe, who served three terms as Mayor of Region of Queens Municipality, from 2000 until 2012. He was the second Mayor of the newly amalgamated Municipality. Prior to this, He served the citizens of Queens for more than 20 years as their Member of Legislative Assembly. Temporary Street Closures in Liverpool During Privateer Days Parade

June 24, 2022: On Saturday, June 25, 2022, the following temporary street closures will be in effect, during the Privateer Days parade, from approximately 10:45 am – 12:15 pm: Bristol Avenue, from Hank Snow Museum to Henry Hensey Drive, Henry Hensey Drive, from Market Street to Main Street, Main Street, from Henry Hensey Drive to Market Street.

Public Notice: Water and sewer rehabilitation project to begin June 27

June 24, 2022:  Region of Queens Municipality continues to invest in maintaining municipal infrastructure, and one of this year’s capital projects is the Church Street Rehabilitation project, which will begin on Monday, June 27.  The public is advised that the section of Church Street, Liverpool, from Court Street to Jubilee Street, will be closed to public traffic beginning on Monday, June 27, 2022. This section of Church Street will remain closed to all but local traffic and emergency vehicles for rehabilitation of water and sewer infrastructure until work is completed. July 1 all across Queens,  it will be time to Celebrate Canada! Canada Day events and celebrations are planned in Milton, Caledonia & Liverpool. Canada Day 2022 promises to be a fantastic celebration of community! The theme for Canada Day 2022 in Liverpool is #ROCKtheMersey. Queens wants to show that everyone is welcome.  June, as Pride Month in Canada, is a great time to action some recommendations of the Diversity and Inclusion Action Team (DIAT). The Progress Pride flag on the Liverpool Visitor information Centre stair risers represents a range of marginalised people, adding people of colour and trans people to the LGBTQ2S+ rainbow. There is much to learn from various perspectives. May 17, 2022: Region of Queens Municipality has been advised of some upcoming work being done on the Liverpool Bridge by Bell Aliant, scheduled to take place this week and next week.  The work that Bell Aliant is doing will reduce the bridge to one lane and there will be traffic control in place while the work is taking place. Public Notice: Park Maintenance at Pine Grove Park, April 28 & 29, 2022

April 28, 2022:  On April 28 and 29, 2022, Municipal staff will be onsite at Pine Grove Park in Milton, to conduct regular maintenance to the park and trails.  The Anniversary trail (the riverside trail that connects the Trestle Trail to Pine Grove Park) will be resurfaced.  The trail in Pine Grove Park that loops around the pond will have fallen and dead trees removed.  Signage will be in place advising of the work sites, and at times, some sections of trails may be closed temporarily for short periods of time, or rerouted.  We apologise for any inconvenience caused.  These…
