Notice of intent to consider Second Reading bylaw no. 2 – a bylaw respecting burning

Council of Region of Queens Municipality will consider second reading of a bylaw to repeal Bylaw No. 2 – A Bylaw Respecting Burning at the Regular Council Meeting on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. in Council Chamber, 249 White Point Road, Liverpool, NS.

OBJECT OF THE BYLAW:  The object of the proposed bylaw is to repeal Bylaw No. 2 – A Bylaw Respecting Burning, which was adopted in 1998. The bylaw is no longer required as burning restrictions are regulated through provincial legislation and the Province of Nova Scotia’s BurnSafe program, which provides standardized burning requirements throughout Nova Scotia.

A copy of the repealed bylaw may be inspected at the Municipal Administration Building, located at 249 White Point Road, Liverpool, NS, during the regular office hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and on the Municipal website at www.regionofqueens.com.
