Notice of Public Hearing: Land Use Bylaw Amendments – Residential Uses in Commercial Buildings

TAKE NOTICE THAT Council of the Region of Queens Municipality, on Wednesday November 12, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., in Council Chambers of the Municipal Administration building, 249 White Point Road in Liverpool NS, will hold a Public Hearing on Council’s intention to amend its Land Use Bylaw.  The amendments would see changes to the Site Plan Approval requirements for Dwellings in Commercial Buildings, to allow for a greater amount of the ground floor area of a commercial building to be utilized for residential purposes.

Any interested persons who wish to speak on this matter are invited to attend and make their opinions known to Council.  Written submissions will be presented at the Hearing, but must be delivered to the Municipal Office at least two (2) business days prior to the date of the Hearing.

Copies of the proposed Bylaw and accompanying staff report are available at the Office of the Planning and Development Department in the Municipal Administration Building, 249 White Point Road, Liverpool, Nova Scotia, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
