Flags at Half-Mast

October 24, 2025: Region of Queens Municipality’s Council and staff extend deepest condolences to the family and friends of Raymond Fiske, who passed away on October 23, 2025. Mr. Fiske was a community leader who led a life committed to service. He devoted 8 years to serving as a Councillor with Region of Queens Municipality from 2012 through to 2020.
Mr. Fiske and his wife, Debbie, moved from Lawrencetown to Middlefield, Queens County in 1978, where he was employed for 30 years as administrator at Hillsview Acres Home for Special Care. He was a well-respected administrator and loved by the residents, their families, and staff. He was known for his caring nature, sense of humour, love of sports, and devotion to his wife, his children, and his grandchildren.
Well known throughout Queens, Mr. Fiske was active in many community organizations, including the Friends of Hank Snow Society, Prince of Wales Zetland Lodge #9, Queens County Fair, Queens County Transit, North Queens Nursing Home Board, and several others. In 2024, he was selected by Region of Queens Municipality’s Council as one of two Queens County volunteers to receive the Provincial Volunteer Award.
Flags at Region of Queens Municipality’s administration building will be lowered to half-mast today through to end of day of his funeral or memorial service, as per Policy #84: Flag Flying, which notes this gesture of respect be given to former Municipal Councillors.
