Public Notice: Temporary Traffic Control Lights on Eastern End of Waterloo Street

October 7, 2025: There are new traffic control lights located in the construction area of Waterloo Street, Liverpool. These lights will remain in place while construction is ongoing. As construction areas change, the lights may shift locations slightly. There is sensor detection to avoid the need for long stops when there is no oncoming vehicle. Staff are monitoring the timing to allow for slow passage, and there may be some adjustments to the timing, as needed.
The NS Temporary Workplace Traffic Control Manual is online:https://novascotia.ca/tran/tcm/traffic-control-manual.pdf and states that any overnight lane closure must have active traffic control regardless of construction activity. The signage and lights are to be complied with as legal authority under the Motor Vehicles Act and Public Highways Act.
