Located on the banks of the Medway River, Greenfield was the first fishing and hunting grounds of the Mi’kmaq. In 1830, Samuel Hunt became the first white settler in this area, after he moved his family from Pleasant River.
Today Greenfield is a vibrant community and hosts the Nova Scotia Drag Racers every summer. A popular feature on the summer calendar as well is the annual Planked Salmon Supper which draws crowds from all over.
