The Region of Queens issues approximate 15,000 tax invoices to all property owners once a year. Unlike many municipalities in Nova Scotia, our rates are inclusive of services such as fire hydrants, street lighting, garbage collection and paving.
Property taxes in the Region of Queens are calculated by applying the applicable tax rate to every $100 in assessed property value. The assessed value is determined by an independent organization, the Property Valuation Services Corporation, a company that performs the valuation services for all properties in Nova Scotia. HST is not applicable on property taxes.

|Residential / Resource||$1.10||$1.96|
|Districts 5 & 6 Area Rates||All Classifications:||$0.06|
