June 7, 2019; Liverpool, NS:  On Monday, June 17, 2019, upgrades will begin on the water and sewer system that serves the streets to the east of lower Waterloo Street, Liverpool, NS.  Work will commence on William Street, James Street, and Bartling Avenue. This project is the first year of a multi-year project which will see upgrades to complete the lower Waterloo Street area.  A key component of this project is to eliminate historic sewage outfalls from this area from the harbor and connect to the sewage treatment plant.

Work on William and James Streets and Bartling Avenue is expected to continue from June 17 through to late fall, 2019.  Detours and traffic rerouting will be in place on the affected roadways.  During the construction period, access to the work area will be restricted to local traffic and emergency vehicles only.

Over $70 million in capital upgrade investments throughout Queens County have been made by Region of Queens Municipality since amalgamation in 1996.  Much has been accomplished in the past 22 years, with infrastructure investments to help to improve our environment, provide safe streets, sidewalks, and drinking water, as well as quality recreational facilities.
