The Region of Queens is full of vibrant and active communities with various activities going on throughout the year. A strong sense of belonging is an important step in being an inclusive community.
2021-2022 Diversity and Inclusion Small Grant Recipients
We are so pleased to announce that the Diversity and Inclusion Small Grant Program distributed $10,000 in funding to community organizations to help fund a variety of diversity and inclusion focused groups, events, and programming including:
- A Breath of Fresh Air, youth theatre group
- Truth and Reconciliation Gathering for Sept. 30th, 2021
- Unified Sport, basketball team c/o LRHS
- Indigenous/African Nova Scotian Youth Group
- North Queens Active Living Committee, Club Volleyball for female identifying youth
- North Queens Active Living Committee, Paddleboarding
- Liverpool Regional High School Culture Club, gender-affirming gear, supports and resources
- Liverpool Regional High School, Elder Space in Learning Commons
- Liverpool Curling Club for improving accessibility in washrooms
- Pleasant River Community Hall
* March 8 is International Women’s Day. The theme of this year’s International Women’s Day is #breakthebias. Queens County is no stranger to breaking gender biases. To mark the day, Region of Queens Diversity and Inclusion has made a video showing how Region of Queens will help #breakthebias.
