Notice of Public Hearing: Sale of Municipal Property For Less Than Market Value
SUMMARY
Region of Queens Municipality has been approached to consider transferring responsibility for the below described property at Path Lake to the Nature Conservancy of Canada.
Under the proposal, stewardship of these beautiful natural spaces would be transferred to the Nature Conservancy of Canada for $1.
If the land transfer is approved by Council, the public will still have the same level of access to the Path Lake lands that has historically been enjoyed, including the ability to hunt, fish, and hike on the property.
As with any sale or transfer of municipal lands for a price below market value, the Municipal Government Act requires Region of Queens Municipality to engage in a public hearing process. This provides the opportunity for residents to give feedback to Region of Queens Municipal Council before any decision is made, ensuring transparency and accountability.
The formal public hearing notice and additional information about the property follows below.
