Watermain Flushing Schedule

NOTICE

WATERMAIN FLUSHING SCHEDULE

Customers are advised that the Water Department will be flushing watermains during the period of Monday, May 2, 2022 to Friday, May 6, 2022. Following are the dates, locations and approximate times the flushing will be carried out:

Monday, May 2, 2022 West of Union Street, Main Street and Streets off Main
2:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.

Tuesday, May 3, 2022 West of Union Street, Old Port Mouton Road, Industrial Mall, Payzant Street, Main Street east of Union Street 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.

Wednesday, May 4, 2022 East of Union Street, Church Street, Waterloo Street, Crowell Street, Barss Street, College Street  2:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.

Thursday, May 5, 2022 Henry Hensey Drive, Wentworth Street, Stenpro Area, Bristol Avenue, Mersey Avenue, Old Falls Road, Milton Road East, Highway #3 in Brooklyn, Markland Avenue, Brooklyn Shore Road  2:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.

Friday, May 6, 2022 East of Union Street, Holland Drive, School Street, Lower end of Waterloo Street  2:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.

Throughout the week, customers within the entire water system will generally experience loss of water pressure and discolouration of water until all the flushing is completed. This discoloured water should return to normal within a few days after flushing. Customers should refrain from using water when flushing is being undertaken in their area. Also customers are reminded that domestic hot water tanks should be flushed annually. If you have any questions, please contact the Engineering and Works Department at 902-354-3455 during working hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or the pager at 902-354-4749 after hours.
