January 24, 2018; Liverpool, NS: Country music fans were out in force as the Region of Queens Municipality announced a summer concert. Headlining the show will be the multiple Canadian Country Music Award (CCMA) winning, the Washboard Union. Concert goers will see the Washboard Union performing live at Queens Place Emera Centre in Liverpool, NS, on June 15, 2018.
“The Washboard Union is one of the most talked about bands in Canadian county music right now, and we are delighted that they will be performing at Queens Place Emera Centre,” said David Dagley, Mayor of the Region of Queens Municipality. “The Washboard Union is in frequent rotation on Canadian country music radio, and is well known for putting on a high energy live performance that will have fans on their feet, dancing the night away.”
The Washboard Union amassed nine awards in 2017, including a CCMA for Roots Group of the Year (an award they also received in 2016) as well as a record seven British Columbia Country Music Association Awards (BCCMA). In 2016, they took home two CCMAs, and have four previous BCCMA Awards. Since their song “Shot of Glory” attained gold record status in sales in September, 2017, the Washboard Union has seen their single “Shine” reach the top 10 on the Canadian Country Music charts, as their third top 10 hit, and their fourth song to chart in the top 20. They have shared the stage with such well known country acts as Keith Urban, Reba McEntire, the Zac Brown Band, and recently with Old Dominion.
“As an added bonus for fans, the Region of Queens is pleased to welcome the show opener Jason Benoit, a Canadian country singer-songwriter from Fox Island River, Newfoundland, along with special guest, Queens County’s own Autumn Rae Carver of Middlefield, winner of the South Shore Ex – South Shore Idol competition in 2017,” said Dagley.
Tickets go on sale at 1 p.m., January 24, 2018 through Ticketpro, and are available at Ticketpro.ca, by calling 1-888-311-9090, or onsite at Queens Place Emera Centre, Liverpool, NS. Floor seating is Ages 19+ (ID required), with a floor bar service provided. Upper North seating is all ages, those sections able to access the Community Room for bar service. Tickets are $45 and $55 base plus tax and fee.
