The replacement of street lights is the responsibility of Nova Scotia Power, who can be contacted at 1 (800) 428-6230. It is also requested that you advise our office as well at 902-354-3455.
The Region of Queens does not currently have a winter parking ban. However, it is important to note that the use of snow and sidewalk plows and salt trucks are severely limited by cars, trucks, garbage cans and compost carts being parked or placed where we have to plow. Service and response can be greatly improved with your help in making sure your vehicle is off the street or sidewalk during a storm and until all clearing efforts are complete.
Plugged catch basins are the most frequent cause of this problem. As a resident and home owner, you can greatly assist us in keeping this under control by not raking leaves, grass, or small branches onto the street where rain water will force it into the drain causing blockages. The same problem can occur with snow and ice. If a plug does occur, please call our office at 902-354-3455.
Our after hours pager number is 902-354-4749. Please leave a clear and precise message and your call will be returned as soon as possible.
As a home owner/landlord, you are responsible for the section that runs from your house to the property line. When you call our office at 902-354-3455, we will need to know the name of the plumber that verified the location of the blockage.
Low water pressure can be result of many things. Before you call, ask yourself these questions:
- Is my water filter dirty?
- Do I have an open valve (usually outside)?
- Do I have normal pressure at my outside tap?
If, after checking the above, you still have low pressure, call our office at 902-354-3455.
